Tenuta di Castellaro, Ypsilon 2020

Flag of Italy

Tenuta di Castellaro calls the tiny, 2000 square metre island of Lipari, just off the coast of Sicily, home. Wanting to create a pure expression of the volcanic territory of Aeolian Islands, winemakers Massimo Lentsch and Stefania Frattolillo made their dream into a reality in 2005. Tenuta di Castellaro is now one of Lipari's most celebrated wineries. Ypsilon 2020 is made from a blend of Corinto Nero, Nero d'Avola and Alicante Bouschet. The grapes were harvested and aged one year in stainless steel prior to bottling to preserve freshness in the wine. The nose is intensely fruity & fragrant with notes of redcurrant, raspberry, cranberry and plum. The palate has a pleasant mineral streak, backed up with well-integrated tannins and a good level of acidity. A great wine to pair with lighter meat dishes or a pizza.
